what about a giant blue 100 eyed monster with sharp claws who's smiling with a big grin with his sharp teeth showing and his hand on the kids shoulder and he looks scary but there's a weird happy and nice feeling to him. maybe the kid smiling with his teeth showing and looking really happy could add that affect. you should do it over with any suggestions that you find really cool that other people post.
